What Animal Are You at Work? The Free Office Animal Quiz (Seriously)

People have been asking "what animal are you at work" long before any quiz existed. You have probably heard it at a coffee break: "Oh, she's totally the golden retriever of the team." Or: "He's a cat — camera off, nowhere to be found." The metaphor is everywhere because it works. Animals are a shortcut for the weird, specific ways people show up at work.

So we built a quiz that takes the idea seriously enough to be funny, and not seriously enough to be a personality framework. Five questions, forty seconds, one office animal. No signup, no email, no "enter your address to see your result." The result stays on your device.

Why animal archetypes beat corporate jargon

Corporate language has a way of making simple things sound complicated. "Cross-functional synergy" means "people from different teams talking to each other." "Action item" means "a thing someone should do." Animal labels are the opposite: they take complicated social dynamics and make them instantly recognizable. Everyone knows what a fox at work looks like. Nobody needs a glossary.

That immediacy is the whole point. When you call someone a Capybara, the room understands: calm, unbothered, probably has snacks. When you call someone a Dog, they know it means enthusiastic, prepared, and maybe a little too willing to volunteer. It is not precise, but it is honest in a way that "collaborative contributor" never is.

The 7 office animals

The Corporate Zoo has seven animals, each one a recognizable workplace archetype. Here is a quick tour:

How the quiz works

You answer five multiple-choice questions. Each answer maps to a score. The total score maps to one of the seven animals. That is it. There is no algorithm running in the background, no machine learning, no "analysis." The matching animation you see is decorative — it is there because a three-second pause makes the result feel more fun, not because anything is being computed.

The questions rotate daily, so if you come back tomorrow you will get a different set. Everyone who visits on the same day sees the same five questions, which means you can compare results with a coworker without anyone having to coordinate. The selection is deterministic, based on the date, so there is no randomness and no server involved.

Your answers and your result are stored only in your browser's local storage. They are never sent to a server. You can clear them anytime by clearing your browser data. There is no account, no email, and no way for us to know which animal you got.

The honest caveat

This is a humor quiz. It is not a personality test, a psychological assessment, a career evaluation, or anything that should appear in a performance review. The scoring is simple, the categories are made up, and the results are meant to make you smile and send a link to a coworker. If you are looking for a validated workplace assessment, there are real tools designed for that purpose. This is the internet's zoo, not a clinic.

That said, there is a kernel of truth in every archetype. The fun is in recognizing yourself — and your colleagues — and laughing about it together.
